Experience the rare and concentrated beauty of the Citrusdal Mountains with the Vulpes Velox Chenin Blanc 2024. Crafted by Nuschka de Vos, this vintage captures the essence of a high-altitude, once-neglected vineyard. The name “Velox” pays tribute to the swift fox, reflecting the wine’s lean, energetic, and precise character. Sourced from 20-year-old bush vines at 600 meters above sea level, this site benefits from cooling sea breezes and misty mornings. These conditions preserve a vibrant acidity that balances the wine’s natural richness.
Tasting Notes: The 2024 vintage delivers an effortlessly complex profile with impressive structural depth. On the nose, you will discover layers of soft citrus, white pear, and quince. Subtle notes of beeswax, blanched almonds, and a touch of earthiness add a sophisticated, savoury dimension. The palate is dense and richly textured, showing a salty minerality and a chiselled, bone-dry finish. A slight, intriguing bitter quality on the end provides extra grip and length.
