The 2021 vintage, is laying solid foundations for something truly great. A blend of 54% Cabernet Franc, 33% Merlot and 13% Cabernet Sauvignon, the individual components were matured for 12 months in barrel, of which 30% was new before blending and a further 12 months in concrete tank and foudre.

This majestic estate is situated at the foot of the Helderberg Mountain, with panoramic views stretching to Cape Point, Table Mountain, Robben Island and the Stellenbosch Hills. Here the vineyards are planted at an altitude of 300 meters above sea level, facing False Bay to the South West. It is this unique location and positioning which provides the vineyards with the gentle cooling sea breezes, which enables optimal slow ripening during the summer months.

Tasting Notes: Elegant and structured with a "weightless concentration," focusing on freshness and finesse rather than raw power. Earthy blackcurrant, cedar spice, wet tobacco, dark berries, and subtle fynbos. Layers of red and black berries, damson plums, and dried herbs with a creamy, mineral-driven finish. Fine-grained, powdery tannins with high, refreshing acidity.

Food Pairing: Grilled lamb chops, venison loin, beef fillet, or slow-cooked lamb shank (Nihari gosht). Mushroom risotto, truffle-infused dishes, or root vegetable gratins. Aged cheddar, Pecorino, or Comté. Flavour Profiles: The wine’s dark berry and spicy notes, along with its elegant tannins, make it suitable for dishes featuring rosemary, thyme, and sage.

But it’s on the palate that the true pedigree of this classy blend reveals itself, where incredibly tight grained mineral tannins marry with bright, fresh, taut blue and black berry fruits, saline creme de cassis, sappy currants, damson plums and a mouth coating creamy mineral grip on the finish.
