Mother Rock The Building Blocks red is the first red wine produced from the Platteklip vineyard located on Piket Bo-berg. Stompie has had the vineyards certified organic by Ceres and has also had this designated as a ward of the Swartland. This vintage is a blend of Grenache Noir, Pinot Noir and Mourvedre. Blue/purple fruit with hints of Black Forest, anise, cedar and red apple skin. Medium-bodied with fine tannins and wonderful freshness
A powerful site-driven blend from Platteklip Vineyards. 80% whole bunch, 14 months in old oak, and then 8 months in concrete. Old oak + concrete = deliciousness. This will be the last vintage featuring Pinot Noir.
This wine is super fresh but with an impressive depth for such young vines. The nose is redolent of black cherries and spiced jam, while the palate shows red fruits and thyme. Beautiful, vibrant, and refreshing. An incredible showing of the first wine ever to be produced by such young vines.
“Intriguing aromatics of red berries, potpourri, some meatiness and spice – nothing overt. Medum bodied with bright acidity and fine tannins. Unshowy, taut and uncompromisingly dry on the finish.” – Christian Eedes,
