The Amos Block Sauvignon Blanc 2023 (OVP 1965) Organic comes from South Africa’s oldest Sauvignon Blanc vineyard. This dryland heritage block delivers a bright, energetic wine with purity, minerality and quiet power.
Tasting Notes: Bright and refined, with zesty citrus, a saline mineral core, and a velvety texture. The skin contact provides a gentle grip and extended finish, reminiscent of an elegant Sancerre but with sunny South African ripeness and aging potential.
Food Pairing: Pairs perfectly with seafood, grilled fish, fresh oysters, goat cheese, and light summer salads. Its crisp acidity and mineral notes complement both delicate and flavorful dishes.
Grapes from a certified heritage vineyard planted in 1965, the oldest of this variety in the country. 30% fermented in older oak. Citrus, peach, granadilla, dried grass and some leesy complexity on the nose. The palate has good fruit weight, a creamy texture and well-integrated acidity, the finish gently savoury. Alcohol is a relatively low 12.28% but this is pleasantly rich and round. CE’s rating: 91/100.
