The 2022 vintage will be remembered for a cool season followed by a sudden temperature spike in January, which contributed to a smaller wine grape crop. Temperatures remained moderate throughout the rest of the season, vineyards took their time to reach optimum ripeness and developed stunning flavour and colour. Harvest time was delayed by 10 to 14. Harvest 2022 delivered excellent wines with great colour and flavour and elegance.

Fruit from a dry land farmed bush vine planted in 1974 in Agter-Paarl on Malmesbury shale and decomposed granite soils. Between Paarl, Malmesbury and Durbanville lies the fertile Agter Paarl area, here the summers are hot and dry, with colder wet winters. The farmers rely entirely on rainfall to quench the rich and fertile soil.
The cool sea breezes that flow in from both the Indian and Atlantic oceans act as an effective antidote to the scorching sun, to keep the ripening grapes at an optimal temperature required to produce truly great wines. Overcoming difficult growing conditions, dry land vines yield small berries with concentrated flavour and colour which in turn.

Tasting Notes: An elegant and vibrant barrel fermented Chenin Blanc with concentrated fruit purity. This wine has a superbly complex nose featuring notes of stone fruit, ripe apricots and pineapple followed by melon and grapefruit interspersed with subtle notes of spice. The palate is generous and rich with broad layers of flavour and a creamy texture. Impressive structure and intensity with excellent ageing potential.
